Dan's Garage Door Service is an established family owned and operated company with over 45 years of experience providing garage doors, entry doors, and garage door openers to homeowners and builders throughout the Alton/Godfrey and greater Riverbend area.
Calling himself "The Door Keeper", Dan started his garage door business in 1977 working out of his home-garage in East Alton, Illinois. He would hang garage doors during the day and work midnights as a full-time assembly line worker for Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, Missouri. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 2006.
In the spring of 2013, Dan took the plunge and moved his business out of his home-garage and opened his first store and showroom in Godfrey, Illinois. In 2020, Dan’s Garage Door Service bought out and acquired Alton Fence and Door.
Alton Fence & Door was first established in 1976. The original owners were Roy and Thelma Ferguson. In 2009, the couple retired and sold their family owned and operated business to another local resident, Ron Garner, owner of Garner's Tree Service. In January 2020, Garner sold the fence and door business to Dan.
A huge showroom is located at 5501 Godfrey Road, in Godfrey Illinois, with garage doors, automatic garage door openers, and Lifestyle Screen on display. We also have a parts store for those those do-it-yourself projects.
